DOLLY PARTON IMAGINATION LIBRARY

In 1995, the Dollywood Foundation launched Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in East Tennessee. Since then, the program has expanded globally, with affiliates in Australia, Canada, the Republic of Ireland, the United Kingdom, and across the United States. To date, more than 257 million books have been gifted to children, with over 3 million books mailed each month!

The program operates through local nonprofit affiliates that fund and manage book distribution in their communities. In Malheur, Payette, and Washington Counties, the local affiliate is Four Rivers Healthy Community, working to ensure children have access to books and a love for reading from an early age.

Although the books are free to families, they are not free to provide. It costs approximately $2.60 per book per child per month, or $31 per child per year. Thanks to generous donors, over 50% of children in our three-county area—more than 2,000 kids—are currently receiving books!

Together, we can ensure every child has the opportunity to build a home library and a lifelong love of books!
